National Wellness Month activities for the workplace.

August is National Wellness Month, and the quiet danger zone before Q4: end-of-summer fatigue, the Q3 grind, fall planning starting. Most companies skip wellbeing programming this month. These are National Wellness Month activities for the workplace built as a complete 4-week burnout-prevention plan to reset your team before Q4 starts.

About the monthAll August

National Wellness Month has run every August since 2018. It falls in the quiet stretch before Q4, when burnout compounds unnoticed, which makes August the most valuable month to reset a team before the year-end push, and the one most companies skip.

The pattern

Why August is the most-skipped wellness month, and shouldn’t be.

August often gets treated as a wellness lull month. People are on PTO, the office feels quiet, and HR holds budget for fall programming. By the time September arrives, employees are already cooked.

Burnout doesn’t take August off. It compounds quietly: deferred PTO, unfinished Q2 carry-over, fall planning anxiety. Teams that get to September without an August reset enter Q4 already depleted.

A complete August campaign needs four things: a real recovery reset, energy-management tools that survive Q4, sleep and digital-overload practices for always-on cultures, and a clear bridge into Q4 planning.

The usual month

  • One all-staff email
  • A meditation-app discount code
  • Silence by the first of next month

A Chakra Hours plan

  • Four live sessions, one a week
  • A manager toolkit for each
  • Follow-through that outlasts the month

Internal comms, done

Copy you can paste, not write.

Every session ships with the announcement copy ready to go. No one on your team has to write five versions of the same message.

Employee announcement copy (Slack, Teams, internal email)
Manager preview copy (1 day before each session)
Post-session follow-up copy
Built to report on

Numbers you can take to leadership.

The campaign is built to be measured, not just felt. You leave August with the data to show leadership it did something, and a baseline for next year.

  • Wellbeing Audit
A 10-question baseline before the month starts.
  • Mid-month checkpoint
A quick pulse to course-correct in real time.
  • Post-program summary
Attendance and feedback, packaged for HR.
  • Leadership-ready
Aggregate, anonymous results, formatted to share up.
After August

What happens after the campaign ends.

Most companies stop wellness programming in August because attendance feels lower. But the teams that do show up are the ones most at risk of Q4 burnout.

The Chakra Hours approach: use August as the foundation month for Q4. The reset that happens here is what sustains your team through performance reviews, end-of-year planning, and holiday programming.

If you upgrade to the Year-Round Program within 30 days of completing the August 4-Pack, we apply 50% of your pack fee ($1,200) as credit, and Q4 programming (including October World Mental Health Day) is already on the calendar.

The result: a team that enters September already resourced, not already depleted.

Why live

Why live programming, not just an app discount.

01

Live programming during the quietest wellness month signals that leadership treats wellbeing as a year-round commitment, not a campaign moment.

02

Burnout is compounding, live, human-led sessions create co-regulation that asynchronous content can’t.

03

Live programming teaches portable Q4-ready practices, so the reset doesn’t end when August ends.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Doesn’t attendance drop in August?+

Attendance can be lower because of PTO, which is exactly the point. The employees who show up in August are often the ones carrying the most load. Smaller, deeper sessions land harder.

Can we run the August 4-Pack across two locations or time zones?+

Yes. Multiple Zoom rooms, multiple Teams channels, or staggered delivery for global teams, we accommodate. August is a good month to test global delivery before Q4 ramps.

How does this bridge into October programming?+

August sets the foundation; October (World Mental Health Day) builds on it. The Year-Round Program pre-programs both months so they share a continuous arc.

How quickly can we book?+

For August campaigns, we recommend booking by mid-June to lock in delivery dates. Late bookings (after July 1) may have limited availability.

What outcome data do we get?+

A pre-program Wellbeing Audit, mid-program checkpoint, and post-program summary with attendance, feedback, and aggregate audit data. Designed to share with leadership ahead of Q4 planning.

Can we run this for a remote or hybrid team?+

Yes. Every session runs live over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, so distributed teams join the same session at the same time, and we can record it for anyone who misses it. Onsite delivery is available across Dallas-Fort Worth.

Is participation inclusive and opt-in?+

Always. Sessions are voluntary, seated and chair-friendly, and designed for beginners and skeptics, with no flexibility or special clothing required. We keep the tone supportive and never single anyone out.
